Home DIY Project

The aim of this project was to create an open-plan space and take away the dark narrow hallway which leads to the main living space.

Phase 1 - Got a plumber in to move the radiator then removed the window and frame and proceeded to dismantle the wall.

Phase 2 - Removed the metal air ducts in the ground which where left in the wall from the old heating system. I extended the kitchen wall out 1m in order to separate the toilet from the kitchen space and to allow the two plug sockets to be moved as they where often used.

Phase 3 - Re-routed wires to new wall and fitted plug sockets, removed hallway lighting, filled in the holes from the heating, plastered the walls and re-laid the whole ground floor with ceramic tiles.
